From July 1, 2017 First home Owners Grant for existing or new homes threshold for the stamp-duty exemption for new property $650,000,and pro-rated up to $800,000.
The First Home Owners Grant of $10,000 will be available on new property only (ie. apartment, townhouse)up to $600,000 and house and land package buyers up to $750,000
and also stamp duty on lenders mortage insurance will be scrapped, saving approx.$2,900 on average.
Property Investors lose the off-the-plan stamp duty concession and must now pay at the time of purchase. Owner occupiers keep the concession with a maximum of 15 months to pay.
July 1, 2017 Oversea Investor surcharge will double from 4% TO 8%,and land tax increased from 0.75% to 2% PA.
